Are you really living?

I was in my chiropractor’s office this morning and saw this quote on the wall. With all my learning about healthy lifestyles and the foolish way many of us live, myself included, I had to share this with you.

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, he said:

“Man.
Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money.
Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health.
And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present;
the result being that he does not live in the present or the future;
he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”

I was reminded also of this quote from the Bible in Isaiah 55:2  New Living Translation
Why spend your money on food that does not give you strength?
Why pay for food that does you no good?
Listen to me, and you will eat what is good.
You will enjoy the finest food.

God may be talking about spiritual matters here, but honestly, in our lives physically, emotionally, spiritually, how much are we wasting our time and money buying things that don’t really ‘nourish’ us?

I just wanted to give us all food for thought. We live in an overfed and under nourished nation. I think it’s time to get back to some of the basics with food, God, relationships and life in general.

Blessings to you all and may you all experience true abundant life!
